Photos: Shutterfly Groundbreaking Ceremony in Shakopee

Governor Mark Dayton, Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke, Scott County officials and others were present at the groundbreaking event headed by Ryan Companies.

Shutterfly's expansion to Shakopee was a collaborative effort by the state, county and city, said officials who spoke at the Shutterfly groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.


Speakers included Casey Hankinson, vice president of development at Ryan Companies, Governor Mark Dayton, Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke, Scott County Commissioner Dave Menden, and officials from Shutterfly Dwayne Black and Peter Navin.


During the groundbreaking ceremony, Ryan Companies and Shutterfly presented Mayor Tabke with a $5,000 donation for the Shakopee Park and Recreation department.

Ryan Companies will build Shutterfly's 217,000 square foot facility in the Dean Lakes Business Park in Shakopee. The facility is expected to be finished in July 2014.

Shutterfly's expansion will create 329 jobs in Shakopee over two to five years.
