Shakopee's Canterbury Park Hosts Fireworks, Wiener Dog Races

One of the region's largest fireworks shows–and smallest dog races–lights up Canterbury beginning July 3.

Canterbury Park will stage its annual Fireworks Spectacular on Wednesday, July 3 following an evening of exciting horse racing.

Gates open at the Shakopee racetrack at 2:30 p.m. on July 3 with the first race at 4 p.m.  The Fireworks Spectacular, choreographed to music, will begin about 10 p.m.  Fans can dance to live music after the last race while they wait for the fireworks show.

Patrons can purchase an official Canterbury Park lawn chair on July 3 in Lucky's Gift Shop and enjoy the fireworks while sitting near the racetrack.
