Shakopee School Board Filing for Election Begins July 30

The school board has four seats up for election this year.

The Shakopee School Board will have four seats up for election this fall. Filing for candidacy for those seats begins July 30.

Mary Romansky, Scott Swanson, Carla Shutrop and Steve Schneider are the four members whose terms will end this year. Terms are four years each for each member.

The filing period ends at 5 p.m. on August 13 and is open to anyone who meets the following requirements:

  • Eligible voter
  • Not filed for the same or any other office at the upcoming general election
  • 21 years or older upon assuming office
  • A resident of the Shakopee School District for at least 30 days before the general election

The filing fee is $2. Submit both the fee and the candidate applications in the office of the school district clerk, located at 505 Holmes Street  South.
