Shakopee Tribe To Give City Thousands To Pay For Police

According to the Star Tribune, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community have inked a deal to pay the City of Shakopee $250,000 to pay for police service.

The paper reports payment for city services used by the tribe has been a sore spot in relations between the two governments.

This is the first time the governments have engaged in cost-sharing for city services.
