Scott County Sheriff's Office Receives Above and Beyond Award

Scott County Sheriff Kevin Studnicka attended the ceremony along with others from the sheriff's office jail division.

The Jail Division of the Scott County Sheriff's Office officially accepted an Above and Beyond Award from the Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program on Tuesday morning.

From Scott County:

As noted by ESGR Ombudsman Robert W. Adams: "The Above and Beyond Award is presented to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits."

In the case of the four deployed staff members of the Jail Division, some of those additional, non-mandated benefits included donated vacation hours and preservation of seniority.

Accepting the award for the Jail Division was Corrections Officer Marc Ravnholdt, who, in addition to other supportive initiatives, assembled care packages for the men stationed overseas.
