Buy Wine in Savage; Help Fund Helmets for Firefighters

Savage Fire Department firefighters will show their appreciation to customers July 20.

Buy wine during the month of July and help the firefighters at the Savage Fire Department.

In partnership with Savage City Liquor, Hook & Ladder Winery will give to the Savage Fire Department two dollars of every bottle of wine sold. The funds will go toward replacing the traditional helmets of firefighters with “a brimless, European style helmet that reduces neck strain and is less likely to get knocked off by falling debris,” according to a Savage city press release.

It will cost the department $100 dollars more per helmet to purchase the European style.

According to the city release:

“Wine produced by Hook & Ladder will be on sale throughout the month. In addition, a special free tasting of Hook & Ladder products is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 at the Marketplace store. During the tasting, firefighters will help carry out customers’ purchases to show their appreciation.”

Hook & Ladder Wine purchased at the Savage City Liquor Dan Patch store will also benefit the Savage Fire Department.
