What Should Replace the Former Rainbow Foods?

After sitting vacant for nearly three years, the new owner is looking for a buyer or a tenant. What would you like to see go into the space?

The large retail space that once housed Rainbow Foods and Gold's Gym has been sold to a real estate investment group from Atlanta. The space is located at the corner of Marschall Road and Vierling Drive in Shakopee.

According to a Shakopee Valley News article, RCG Ventures picked up the building, which was recently foreclosed upon, for $6.3 million. The previous owners purchased the building for nearly $10 million more in 2006.

The 103,000 square-foot building—which was originally build for a Kmart—has sat empty for nearly three years. Rainbow Foods left in 2005 and Golds Gym closed up shop in April 2010, according to the article.

The building is currently listed as for sale or lease, with the new owner preferring to lease as is, or redevelop and lease.

So, Patch asks: What business or businesses would you like to see move in? Or should the whole building be scraped? Added on to? Tell us in the comments section below.
