Shakopee High was recently chosen to participate in Hennepin Theatre Trust's "SpotLight Musical Theatre Program."

Shakopee High's drama department was recently selected to participate in Hennepin Theatre Trust's flagship educational initiative, the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program.

Shakopee was one of 67 schools across Minnesota to be given a place in the year-long program, which offers chosen schools expert advice from seasoned theater professionals, exclusive access to workshops with touring Broadway companies and more.

The program culminates in SpotLight Showcase, a public event at the Orpheum Theatre. The event is described as a "professionally produced and choreographed evening is designed to highlight the amazing talent that exists in Minnesota high school musical theatre programs." The showcase is set for next June.
