Shakopee Goes Big Time Over the Rainbow

River Valley Theatre Company is starting rehearsals with a cast of 73 locals for the Wizard of Oz in July. This summer production is exceeding all expectations for interest and talent according to Daphne Siegert, RVTC board vice president and Wizard of Oz producer.

This popular musical will open July 13 and run weekends through July 29. Director Scott Swanson is combining the traditional memories with some unusual twists. The sets pop-up and Oz has gone a little steampunk.

This show includes families and is for families. Special pricing is available with family packs.

Beginning June 25, tickets are $14 or $12 for senior and students. Family packs of four tickets are priced at $45.
