Shakopee Council Member to “Race for Courage" at Raceway Park

Councilor Matt Lehman is scheduled to race, along with other well-known local men and women at a charity event in Shakopee.

Shakopee Councilor Matt Lehman is one of the several well-known local men and women scheduled to race at Raceway Park this weekend. 

The park's annual "Race for Courage" event takes place on Sunday, July 28 at 7 p.m. Admission to the park will get you in to see the following people get in a car to race:

  • Carla Beaurline – Around Town
  • Tim Harlow – Star Tribune
  • Matt Lehman – Shakopee City Councilor
  • Tim Mahoney – Musician/Songwriter
  • Remy Maxwell – 104.1 JACK FM
  • Dawn Mitchell – FOX 9
  • Roshini Rajkumar - WCCO Radio
  • Rachel Slavik – WCCO TV
  • TJ – BUZ’N @ 102.9

The "Race for Courage" event is for the Cars for Courage program, which supports the Courage Center. The Courage Center, now known as the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, provides rehabilitation services for people with short and long term disabilities and injuries. 

From the news release of the event: Cars for Courage accepts cars, boats, trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles and other vehicles. Vehicles are sold for the highest possible price, often by auction, to maximize the value of your gift and tax deduction.
