Apple Fest Returns to The Landing in Shakopee

The event will feature games, apple recipes and artisans.

Three Rivers Park District will host Apple Fest at The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park in Shakopee on Oct. 5 and 6 this year.

From Three Rivers Park District: 

Discover the story of apples in Minnesota. Hear how the first pioneers established winter-hardy apples and turned them into a major horticultural crop. Apples will be cooked, dried, canned, jellied and cidered during the day's activities.

Nineteenth-century apple recipes will be provided for your enjoyment. Observe and visit with artisans demonstrating their skills, and see how lives in early Minnesota were sustained by the tools of the trade. 

Play games and enjoy a ride on a trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses. The gift shop will be open and food will be available for purchase.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Children under 2 are free. 

Apple Fest will take place on Saturday Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
