River Valley Theater Raises The Curtains—And The Stakes

The Shakopee community troupe emphasizes quality shows and performances.

Although there are only four more performances left of River Valley Theatre Company’s production of the musical "Curtains," at the Shakopee Senior High School stage, the community theater group isn't slowing down. River Valley is already planning auditions for its fall show, "Lend Me a Tenor." The group, now in its fourth year, is booked out through the fall of 2012 and aiming to be more than just another community troupe. The company's annual picnic is Aug. 17 at Lions Park, 103 Adams St. S. “We are trying to be a company that’s focused mostly on quality,” explained Scott Swanson, the company treasurer and director for the current production.
