Bull Riding, Car Show, and Beer Fest: Shakopee Weekend Planner

Friday

Scott County Fair

The Scott County Fair continues through Sunday. Friday is Senior Day with free parking (read: free admission) to seniors age 65 and over. The day includes polka and other live performances, and bull riding at the Grandstand

Minnesota Valley Rally

The bi-weekly car show will take place on Friday, July 26 in downtown Shakopee. The free classic car show begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. 

Saturday

Scott County Fair

The carnival will still be going strong on Saturday and opens at 1 p.m. Other events include a strongman competition at 10 a.m. and a kid's pedal pull at 1 p.m. Registration for the pedal pull is at 12:30 p.m.

The demo derby is the featured event at the Grandstand.

Ride to Save Lives

This charity fundraising event is a motorcycle ride to benefit SAVE, a non-profit organization for suicide prevention.

The motorcycle ride begins 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at Vic’s Bar and Grill in Victoria, 7900 Quamoclit.

West Metro High School Mountain Bike Team

A new co-ed mountain bike team will be looking for potential members at the Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve mountain bike trail head. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The team, consisting of students from Shakopee, Eden Prairie, and Bloomington plans to compete in the Minnesota High School Cycling League.

Twin Cities Beer Fest

Canterbury Park is hosting the Twin Cities Beer Fest from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Designated driver tickets are $10. All tickets include admission to live racing at the park.

Sunday

Scott County Fair

The fair ends on Sunday, but there is plenty to do from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including a new bean bag tournament 12 p.m., the carnival (which runs until 7 p.m.), and a draft horse show.

"Race for Courage"

Shakopee Councilor Matt Lehman will race in the charity event at Raceway Park. The event, which benefits the Cars for Courage program, will start at 7 p.m.
