Derby Days Still in Need of Volunteers

Derby Days runs from July 31 through Aug. 4.

In just a few short days Shakopee's annual summer festival Derby Days will commence.

But, willing and able volunteers are still needed, according to the Shakopee Valley News:

Last week, volunteer chair Ryan Koch only had a skeleton crew. He still needed folks to run the Soapbox Derby and bags tournament and help out with other activities, like bingo.

“It’s all really fun and simple stuff,” Koch told Shakopee Valley News. “We have about 80 to 90 positions in three-hour increments — and we have about eight volunteers.”

One event, the sawdust pile grab, has already been cancelled since no one stepped up to chair it, the newspaper reported.
