Should Loss of Dick's Sanitation be a Bigger Issue?

The city's decision to drop Dick's Sanitation has rankled some, but others may not think it's a big deal. What's your opinion?

The Shakopee City Council has decided to contract with Allied Waste Services for the city's trash and recycling services, ending the so-called "Trash Wars."

A couple people left comments on Shakopee Patch's Facebook page suggesting that this was a bad idea.

Said one commenter:

"Forcing people to use only one product is bad enough, but the council has gone one step further and have actually forced you to buy a product even if you don't use it or don't want to use it.

More people should be upset about this..."
