Shakopee Public Access Channel 15 Off Air

The Shakopee Public Access Chanel 15 had its last day of airtime on Dec. 27.

A news release from the city of Shakopee:

The City of Shakopee has discontinued airing programs on its Public Access Channel, Cable Channel 15. The last day of airtime was Thursday, Dec. 27.

In August 2012, the Shakopee City Council decided to discontinue the public access cable channel as a costsavings measure. So few local programs were being submitted that the cost of operating the channel could no longer be justified. The City will save approximately $5,000 by eliminating the channel.
