Shakopee Mayor, City Council and School Board Candidates: Final Count

Two current Shakopee City Council members and two current Shakopee School Board members will not be seeking another term.

Shakopee will have elections for the mayor, city council and school board this fall. Candidates had through the end of the business day on Aug. 13 to file for candidacy.

Two candidates have filed for the mayor election:

  • Brad Tabke (current mayor)
  • Matt Lehman (current city council member)

There are two seats open for Shakopee City Council. Five candidates have filed for election:
  • Kathi Mocol 
  • Jordan Olson
  • Matt Reimler
  • Aaron Weyer
  • Mike Luce
The resignation of current Councilor Pamela Schurman will take effect at the end of August. Councilor Steven Clay's term will end in December of this year. Clay first took office in January 2006.

The Shakopee School Board will have four open seats. Five candidates have filed for election:
  • Mary Romansky (current member)
  • Scott Swanson (current member)
  • Jeremy Casper
  • Shawn Hallett
  • Chuck Berg
Current members Carla Shutrop and Steve Schneider will complete their terms at the end of this year.
