The Public Policy Committee of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting Meet the Candidates events this election season and the public is invited to attend.

This year, the Committee has planned two forums; one for the Scott County Commissioner races, and one for the District 55 State House and District 55 State Senate races. We are partnering with other local organizations, including the Shakopee School District, to make the events informative and approachable for the voting public.

These events will give voters a chance to hear from each candidate before they vote in the November election. In addition, they will give voters a chance to have their voices heard. We are requesting that in the weeks prior to these events, Shakopee community members email their questions to the candidates for consideration in these forums. All questions can be emailed to shakopeeelections@gmail.com.

The Scott County Commissioner Forum for all five open Commissioner District seats will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shakopee High School Lecture Room.
