Sen. Al Franken to Visit Shakopee Businesses and Junior High Wednesday

Franken will travel to Shakopee Junior High at 1:15 p.m. to talk at an assembly of ninth-graders.

Minnesota U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) will be in Shakopee Wednesday afternoon in part to meet with hundreds of 15-year-olds.

Franken and a representative from a major local manufacturer will travel to at 1:15 p.m. to talk at an assembly of ninth-graders about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and related future jobs.

Before his junior high event, Franken plans to meet with employees of Rahr Malting and Koda Energy and tour both facilities, according to a report by Shakopee Valley News.
