Scott County Board Members Facing Election Challengers All Linked to Scheme

The three county board members linked to a scheme to oust the county administrator are all facing challengers in this fall's election.

Three Scott County Commissioners are facing challengers in this fall's election. They also happen to be the commissioners linked to , as pointed out in a Star Tribune story Tuesday.

In January, Commissioners Dave Menden and Joe Wagner of Sand Creek Township moved to fire administrator Gary Shelton. Allegations were found to be unsubstantiated in March.

Menden will face Scott County Human Services Resource Council chair  in the election.

Insurance agent Jerry Kucera is running against Wagner again, after a previously close race. LuAnne Lemke, a township supervisor in Louisville Township, is also running against Wagner.

Board Chairman Tom Wolf will face Brent Lawrence, who leads the board of supervisors in Credit River. Lawrence accuses Wolf of having been part of an improper cabal, the Star Tribune story said.

Commissioners Barb Marschall and Jon Ulrich are unchallenged.
