One Step Closer to Victory for the Vikings Stadium Bill

After an impressive showing of labor workers, key stadium stakeholders and even some of the Vikings key players at the Capitol today, passed through the House of Representatives. The vote came after many hours of drawn out stadium bill hearings.

Chief bill author Representative Morrie Lanning (R-Moorhead) helped shepherd the House bill which was peppered with amendments. Despite increases in the Vikings contributions, naming rights revenues being stripped from the team and an eight hour debate, the bill lived to next be heard on the Senate floor.

With only three days left in the 2012 legislative session, this news comes as proof of amazing progress, according to SavetheVikes.org Founder and Fan Advocate .

He said in a news release he was grateful for all of the support fans have provided so far. "The fact that the bill has come this far is a huge victory," he said.

The hearing date for the Senate is yet to be scheduled but Merrifield said, “We’ll be ready. The fans are mobilized and looking to act swiftly.”
