Shakopee's Mount Holly Mayor Featured in The Onion

The latest story about Mike Haeg is a fun but non-satirical piece in The A.V. Club, which is one of The Onion's publications.

Tucked deep within the sleepy recesses of Shakopee’s residential monotony, across the street from the , exists another much smaller, much more interesting community. It’s a magical little town, known to some as the Neverland of the north-central contiguous United States. (Not really.) They call it Mount Holly, Minnesota.

So begins the latest story on Shakopee's Mike Haeg – a fun but non-satirical piece in The A.V. Club, which is one of The Onion's publications.

The article also mentions some of the projects Haeg has in the works – incluing a Mount Holly AM radio station, a public library, and a therapeutic knitting circle. Then it says Haeg’s most urgent priority right now is turning .

Last night at the first-ever , Haeg told people the arts center he initially proposed is quickly becoming more of a community center. Earlier this week, the Shakopee City Council approved sending out an official request for proposals to any group that has ideas for the space. The deadline for proposals is July 30.
