Gov. Dayton Will Visit Shakopee Today to Discuss Bridge and Flooding Issues

Rep. Michael Beard, R-Shakopee, said his ideal outcome is that Dayton gives the go-ahead on a four-lane Highway 101 bridge project.

Gov. Mark Dayton will be at the this afternoon to attend a meeting to discuss bridge and flooding issues in Shakopee.

Approximately 40 state and local elected officials and community leaders are expected to attend, including officials from the state Department of Natural Resources and Department of Transportation, according to , R-Shakopee.

, R-Jordan, has been working on setting this up, Beard said, and he is hoping Dayton will be able to attend after he missed some events Thursday due to illness.

Beard said his ideal outcome from the meeting is that Dayton will give the go-ahead on the project in question, which would upgrade and raise the Highway 101 river crossing and make it four lanes.

The meeting is scheduled from 1-3 p.m.
