Canterbury Park Could Gain $2.5 Million for Purses if Legislation Passes

The legislation would expand table games at Canterbury Park and provide simulcasting at the state's Native American casinos, including Mystic Lake.

In a rare display of cooperation, there is legislation in St. Paul to expand table games offerings at and provide simulcasting at the state’s Native American casinos, including , according to a report by the Daily Racing Forum.

If passed, the deal could provide an additional $2.5 million in purses for Canterbury Park. The bill passed the state Senate is slated to be taken up by the House today, April 30.

A Canterbury Park spokesman said Monday they are working to get this legislation through and hope it will be up for a vote in the House today. The proposal passed 44-18 in the Senate Saturday night.
