Shakopee Mayor-Elect Brad Tabke Meets with SMSC Tribal Council

Tabke said in a blog post that they had an extremely positive discussion about the future of both communities.

"Today was a good day," Shakopee Mayor-Elect Brad Tabke wrote in a blog post yesterday.

After reaching out to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, he said he was honored to be invited to sit down with their tribal Business Council.

He and councilor-elect Jay Whiting met with Chairman Stanley Crooks, Vice-Chairman Glynn Crooks, Secretary/Treasurer Keith Anderson, Tribal Administrator Bill Rudnicki and others and said what followed was "an extremely positive discussion about the future of both of our communities."

While he said he recognized that the two entities will be unable to agree on everything, he said he felt there was a mutual desire to work together on projects that can benefit all.
