Woman Injured When Train Hit Car in Shakopee

The driver of the car left the vehicle before the train hit it, police say.

An accident involving a train and car caused traffic problems in Shakopee Saturday afternoon as the train had to stop on the tracks after hitting the car.

The accident occurred on County Road 69 past Rahr Malting

The female driver of the car left the vehicle before the train hit it, according to Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate. She was injured in the accident. The injuries are minor, according to the Shakopee Valley News

Nothing spilled from the train and it did not derail, Tate added.
