Shakopee Teen Charged with Robbing Classmate at Knife-Point
The teen is being charged with assault and robbery after allegedly robbing a classmate of $200 at knife-point, according to a Scott County criminal complaint.
A Shakopee teen enrolled at the Tokata Learning Center is accused of robbing a 17-year-old classmate at knife-point.
Adrian William Lloyd Lewis, 19, is being charged with second-degree assault and second-degree robbery after a Jan. 8 altercation in the parking lot of the Shakopee Town Square Mall, where the school is located, seen by multiple witnesses.
According to a Scott County criminal complaint, Lewis started pushing the 17-year-old around the parking lot. Lewis demanded the teen pull out his money and brandished a silver knife, witnesses said. Once the teen gave Lewis his wallet, Lewis removed $200 and threw the wallet back at him.
A friend of Lewis, identified as “Moe,” told two witnesses “not to try anything,” according to the complaint.
The following day, school staff escorted Lewis from the school grounds as a group of students yelled and threatened him. School staff called Shakopee Police on Jan. 10.
A warrant is requested for Lewis’s arrest.
“We’ve had very few issues at the ALC and consider it a safe place to be,” Shakopee Assistant School Superintendent John Bezek told Shakopee Valley News. “When issues pop up, we try to deal with them right away and notify the proper authorities and get parents involved.”
