Shakopee Man Found Dead in Snow Identified
The preliminary report lists hypothermia with alcohol intoxication as a contributing factor as the cause of death.
The Shakopee man who was found dead last week near Top Star Market has been identified.
Thomas James Lawrie, 52, died on Dec. 12 of hypothermia with alcohol intoxication as a contributing factor. The cause of death is according to the coroner's preliminary report, said Shakopee Police Captain Craig Robson.
A passerby called Shakopee Police after spotting Lawrie on the ground. Lawrie was dead when police arrived at around 8:41 a.m.

Police reported the smell of alcohol and bottles of alchohol near the area where Lawrie was found, and the death appeared to be accidental.
