Police: Shakopee Woman Stole From Grandmother to Support Drug Habit

A 19-year-old Shakopee woman is being charged with financial transaction card fraud after she told police that she took her grandmother's car without permission and withdrew $100 from her debit card.

Chelsey Marie Friendshuh has already been convicted of theft and pawning the property of another and is on probation for domestic assault. She also has felony charges pending for check forgery.

Friendshuh is also facing charges drug possession, according to Shakopee Valley News. Her grandmother told police she found drug paraphernalia and a small bag of heroin in Friendshuh's purse.

Shakopee Valley News has more about a similar recent incident:

Friendshuh’s grandmother reported that her granddaughter forged her signature on a check for $300. She told police the young woman had been stealing from her to support her drug abuse.

A day later, the grandmother reported that Friendshuh had returned to her Shakopee residence. When police officers arrived, the grandmother invited them in to speak with Friendshuh.

Friendshuh answered her bedroom door with a knife in hand. She put the knife down and agreed to speak with officers.
