Man Dies in Head-On Collision With Semi-Truck in Shakopee

The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the crash.

A 30-year-old Richfield man died Saturday morning after his vehicle hit a semi-truck head on County Road 101 in Shakopee.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Raul Lopez Cruztitla died of multiple blunt force injuries he received in the accident. The death has been ruled an accident, however, authorities are still investigating the incident.

The crash happened on eastbound Country Road 101 at the junction with Highway 169 in Shakopee. According to WCCO, the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was collided with the semi-truck head on at the junction of the northbound Highway 169 ramp.

Lopez Cruztitla was pronounced dead at the scene. The 55-year-old semi-truck driver was not hurt in the accident, according to WCCO.
