Kerber Family Members Remembered Sunday in Shakopee

The Kerber Memorial Funeral Service at Friendship Church was "absolutely beautiful!" said a Facebook post.

Five members of the Kerber family who died in a vehicle crash in April were remembered Sunday at a funeral in Shakopee, according to a KARE 11 News report.

The family members were killed and several others injured April 1, after their their box trailer converted into a recreational vehicle lost control and crashed into a ravine on Interstate 35 in Kansas.

The matriarch of the family, Pauline Kerber, was one of those injured. Her son, Adam Kerber, 17, who was driving the vehicle when the crash occurred, was also injured. Both were able to travel home to Jordan, MN, in mid-April.

Those killed include Melissa Kerber, 24, of New Prague, Tom Kerber, 25, of New Prague, Jessica Kerber, 10, of Jordan, Joy Kerber, 14, of Jordan, and James Kerber, 12, of Jordan, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

On the Kerber Family Memorial Facebook Page, a post Sunday said the Kerber Memorial Funeral Service at Friendship Church was "absolutely beautiful! Adam & Nick were able to be there but will have to be returned to the hospital this evening. An awesome video was put together of each of the 5 individually, then a combined section for Tom & Melissa. As emotional as that was to watch, it also made your heart swell. As anyone can imagine, there were no dry eyes for the 1200 people that attended. The words from the pastor were comforting as were the words spoken by various family members."
