Shakopee Chamber to Hold February Public Policy Meeting On Proposed Liquor Sales Legislation

The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce will be holding a February Public Policy Meeting to discuss the proposed legislation to allow liquor sales on Sundays in Minnesota. The bill’s author, Representative Jenifer Loon, as well as several additional elected officials will be in attendance at the meeting on February 11, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the Shakopee Police Department Training Room.  The public is invited to attend.

 

“We want to give community members, business leaders, and Chamber members the opportunity to hear about relevant and timely topics first hand, and to have a voice on local issues,” explained Angie Whitcomb, President of the Shakopee Chamber & Visitor’s Bureau.

A panel of informed stakeholders will be on hand at this upcoming February meeting to present both the pros and cons of the bill. Representative Beard, Representative Albright and Senator Pratt will also be in attendance at this event.

These semi-monthly public policy meetings will take place the second Tuesday of every other month at the Shakopee Police Department Training Room located at 475 Gorman Street in Shakopee.  Each meeting will present a topic that is relevant and timely to business owners in Shakopee. The event is FREE to attend, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own brown bag lunch to the meeting.
