Letter to the Editor: Public Invited to Meet the Candidate Forums

The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce and Shakopee Public Schools are hosting two forums over the next couple of weeks.

To the Editor:

Once again this election season, the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is holding a Meet the Candidates Forum for local elections in the Shakopee area. For 2012, the Chamber is partnering with the Shakopee Public Schools to host two events. There is a Forum for the Scott County Board of Commissioners candidates on October 16, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Shakopee High School.

There will also be a Forum for the District 55A State House and Minnesota Senate District 55 races on October 23, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Shakopee High School. Both events have one hour of meet and greet before the question and answer forum begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce invites all members of the voting public to attend, though seating is limited. The events will be videotaped, and will be available for re-broadcast after the events.

In addition, we invite voters to send in proposed questions for the various candidates. Questions are selected by a panel, and are anonymous. To send in a question, simply send an email to ShakopeeElections@gmail.com and indicate the race or candidate(s) to whom the question is directed.

If you have any questions about the Forums, you may contact Angie Whitcomb, President of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce at (952) 445-1660.
