More than 100 volunteers assisted young voters at 19 polling locations.

Kids Voting program a success, thanks to many.

Thank you to the Shakopee community for helping Kids Voting provide an authentic Election Day voting experience for more than 2400 area students. With your assistance, we continue to work to secure the future of democracy by preparing young people to be educated, engaged voters.

On November 6, more than 100 volunteers assisted young voters at 19 polling locations. We salute the following area businesses and organizations for making this program possible by giving their time and/or financial support: Shakopee Rotary Club, Shakopee Lions Club, Minnesota School of Business-Shakopee, Canterbury Park, BMO Harris Bank, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, New Creation Church, Red Oak Elementary PTO, Shakopee Area Catholic Schools – PIP, Shakopee Boy Scout Troop #619, Shakopee Chamber & Visitors Bureau, Shakopee Community Education Advisory Council, Shakopee Public Utilities and Valleyfair.

Lastly, we thank the committed steering committee and the supportive teachers of the Shakopee Area Catholic School and the Shakopee Public Schools for being the power behind this community program.
