Two Great Choices For State Senate, But only can vote for One

In My short time as a State Senate Candidate seeking the DFL nod I have came across two people who I found to be great leaders and share very similar values to what I was campaigning for.

In my short time as a State Senate Candidate seeking the DFL nod I have came across two people who I found to be great leaders in their respective communities and share very similar values to what I was campaigning for.

In modern politics, it seemed almost unthinkable to find people that had my values on public office. Let alone one being a Democrat and one being a Republican. It is even more ironical their running for the same office in the General Election.

If you ask if I am refering to Kathy Busch and Eric Pratt? You would be right. I admit I did publicly support Kathy Busch, but that does not take anything away from Eric Pratt, nor should it.

This is not about my endorsements, I want to let the undecided voters and or voters trying to get familiar with candidates to read about these two people from a perspective of a person who meet and talked with both candidates.

The very first person I knew about was Eric Pratt. Eric Pratt has been a school board member for the Prior Lake- Savage School System District 719 since 2000 and ran for another term back in 2010. He was an avid supporter and an endorsing convention spokesperson for the outgoing State Senator Claire Robling.

I talked to Eric Pratt at Lakefront Days at Memorial Park in Prior Lake. Yes, he is a proud Republican, but not a bitter partisan. He as a school board member welcomed the state's leading teacher's union Education Minnesota to talk with the school board to settle a issue involving the district's teachers while no other school board would talk with Education Minnesota at that time.

What his campaign has said about his experience to get things done is true. I know this part may anger bitter partisans on the other side about what I am saying about Eric Pratt, but I am not writing to entertain partisan politics.

I want people to know both candidates would work for the best interests of Scott County and represent their constituents reguardless of political views. Like Claire Robling, he would continue those values and so would Kathy Busch.

I met Kathy Busch and talked to her at the Scott County Fair. I knew from reading about her and her record also as school board member, she would fit the position to be State Senator like Eric Pratt.

Kathy Busch was a School Board member for the Shakopee School Sytem District 720 from 1993-2011. She also served with current candidate for State House District 55A Chuck Berg. Busch has a record of bi-partisanship also. She worked to achieve things in a non-partisan fashion.

Orginally, Kathy Busch never had ambitions to be in a partisan race for public office. She changed her mind after a outpour of people in the Shakopee community encouraged her to seek a state legislative office.

It was even a surprise to alot of people that she would even run as a DFLer. As a candidate, she had not been changed by partisan poltics. Busch has stated she will be a representative for everyone.

In the end, whoever wins on November 6th will represent the values and earn the trust of the voters of Scott County in the halls of Saint Paul. I ask for people not to just take my word for it. I ask for you the voter to go out their and do your own research on Eric Pratt and Kathy Busch, then go to the polls November 6th and vote for you believe represents the future of Scott County.
