I have had the priviledge of serving with Eldon on the Shakopee board of equalization (market value) for numerous terms. Eldon is a solid example of what we all should strive to be, honest, caring, dedicated, informed, and always respectful. He taught me many of these traits over our years of service together not because I asked for his assistance, rather his demeanor naturally lent his talents to those around him. It is clear to me that his dedication to the citizens of Shakopee led to his years of service and to the overall benefit of our community. My family offers our thoughts and prayers to the Reinke family and friends. May god lighten your loss and brighten your day knowing our friend Elton is in paradise today. Matt Lehman Shakopee City Councilor and friend.

I echo Councilor Lehman’s comments. Mr. Reinke was a perfect example of the kind of person that citizens would like to have in office and making decisions for the good of the people. He always had the good of the community in mind as he thoughtfully and carefully considered matters that came before the City Council. He was a kind and caring man, always a gentleman. I am grateful for all that he did for the community and for his family sharing all of his time allowing him to do so. I worked for Mr. Reinke and the City Council during Mr. Reinke’s tenure on the City Council both as councilor from 1975 to 1982 and as mayor from 1982 until 1988. My heart goes out to his wife, Shirley, and his children and grandchildren. May the Dear Lord continue to hold them in the palm of His hands. Judith S. Cox, Shakopee City Clerk and friend.
