The area is forecast to receive 3 to 5 inches of snow by Sunday afternoon.

Parts of western and southern Minnesota are expected to see near blizzard condtions, particulary areas located along the Minnesota River Valley. According to the National Weather Service "sustained wind speeds of 25 to 30 mph with gusts near 40 mph may produce whiteout conditions at times"

Travel will be hazardous. The National Weather Service suggests having food, water, and an extra flashlight in the car in case of an emergency.

Reminder: In Shakopee a snow emergency is declared after a snow fall of two inches or more. At that time, parking restrictions remain in effect until curb to curb plowing has been completed.
