Scott County Senior Expo Friday

The Expo runs from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Oct. 21 at Shakopee High School.

Older adults are invited to attend a day of exhibits, speakers, entertainment, prizes, food and fun at the Scott County Senior Expo 2011 at . Check in and breakfast will take place begin at 8 a.m.

Speakers include Bob Showers, avid Twins fan and author of "The Twins at the Met," who will share stories of his interviews with some of the Twins' great players from Harmon Killebrew to Rod Carew to Bert Blyleven.

Speaker Majorie Johnson, author of "Blue Ribbon Baking," is known for her award-winning entries at the Minnesota State Fair, taking home more than 2,500 ribbons. Recently, she has made many national television appearances including "The View" and "The Martha Stewart Show."

Deborah Dolan will talk on "Family Conversations: Aging Parents and Adult Children." She will look at planning for longevity and how to get organized as well as give pointers on how a family can hold a meaningful, proactive discussion among parents and adult children in an informal, question-and-answer presentation.

An array of exhibits and service providers also will be on hand to shaire informaiton about their services.
