Portion of Highway 169 To Close Over Weekend

The closure will start at 10 p.m. on Friday.

Both directions of Highway 169 between Valley View Road and Interstate 494 will close this weekend, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The closure will began on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m.

News release from MnDOT: Posted detours will direct motorists to bypass the closure via Hwy 212, Hwy 62 and Hwy 100.

Access to Eden Prairie Center, local businesses and neighborhoods adjacent to the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange will remain open and available during the closure.

Hwy 212 and local roadways that service neighborhoods and other businesses south of I-494 will remain unaffected.

Hwy 169 and all affected ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is necessary as crews stripe Hwy 169 and continue work on bridge decks above it.

The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
