Highway 169 Update on Washington Ave. Ramp Opening

Due to inclement weather, the ramp from eastbound I-494 to Washington Avenue and the ramp from Washington Avenue to southbound Hwy 169 are rescheduled to open Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Several ramps and new roads did open this past weekend. Marth Road, between Hwy 169 and West Bush Lake Road, and the corresponding roundabout, the ramp from Marth Road to eastbound I-494, and Washington Avenue under Hwy 169 are open to traffic. Highwood Drive is permanently closed at Hwy 169.

The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
