Workshop Series in Savage to Help Small Businesses Grow

Savage will use a grant from the Scott County CDA to help strengthen small business through a low-cost educational opportunity.

A workshop series in Savage this fall will focus on small business owners who want to expand their businesses.

The City of Savage has collaborated with the Savage Chamber of Commerce and SCORE to offer the business development workshops, the city announced in a news release. SCORE is a a nonprofit organization that helps small businesses.

Some of the topics covered in the workshops are: “Preparing your Organization for Growth” and “Financing Growth.”

“We hope to give area business owners a broad-based knowledge of what’s involved in moving their company to the next level, so that they are more confident and equipped to do so,” said Brad Larson in the release. Larson is Savage’s assistant to the city administrator.

Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to schedule a complimentary one-on-one consultation with workshop presenters. The presenters are professionals who work with small businesses on a daily basis in several areas, such as law, finance and employment issues.

A grant from the Scott County Community Development Agency will offset the cost to attend the series. The cost is $39 each, or $100 for all four sessions provides access to the two-hour sessions that will be held weekly. Snacks and beverages will also be provided.

The workshops are geared toward small business owners. They will be held at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday in October. To register or for more details, visit cityofsavage.com/for-businesses/workshops.
