Business Boom in Shakopee Continues With TE Development
The development got started this week, according to Finance and Commerce.
With an expansion of Redwood City, CA-based Shutterfly in the works, TE Connectivity is set to get a new 175,000-square-foot warehouse in Shakopee, too.
According to Finance and Commerce, TE and Shutterfly are the latest in about a dozen major commercial developments in recent years, the publication reported.
The TE project got started this week, according to the publication:
"Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties started work this week on the TE building, Scannell development manager Tim Elam told a NAIOP Minnesota gathering on Tuesday. Construction workers could be seen Wednesday taking down trees at the nearly 35-acre site on the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue East and Shenandoah Drive."
As previously reported by Patch, a public hearing regarding Shutterfly's plans is scheduled for the Aug. 7 city council meeting. Both businesses could each bring 300 or more jobs to town.
