The Hobbit Presented by River Valley Theatre Company Opens Dec. 14

The RVTC has partnered with Shakopee Community Education to present its first youth studio production.

The River Valley Theatre Company is presenting The Hobbit: its first Youth Studio performance.

The Hobbit runs Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Performances will take place at Shakopee West Junior High. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased at the door with cash or check.

The Hobbit is J. R. R. Tolkien's classic story, adapted by Edward Mast in a one-hour performance that is perfect for audiences of all ages. Full of action, adventure, and humor, youth performers work to create vivid characters to tell this well-loved tale.

RVTC is proud to partner with Shakopee Community Education to offer the first in a series of youth studio productions. Through the Shakopee Community Education offering, school-age youth meet once a week for rehearsal and learn many valuable skills and stagecraft.

The spring of 2013 will see another classic story—Anne of Avon Lea. Look for the Spring Community Education catalog and register your child early. Registrations for The Hobbit filled in just three days.
