Mystic Lake Casino Hotel Celebrating Grand Opening of Three Bars

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community allowed Mystic Lake to begin selling alcohol last year.

Mystic Lake Casino Hotel will have a grand opening of its three new bars on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Shakopee Mdewatankton Sioux Community owns and operates Mystic Lake and until last year, it did not allow the sell of alcohol. When the ban ended, Mystic Lake began selling alcohol at off-floor locations, according to the Star Tribune

Now there are three gaming-floor bars: Drinx Bar, The Lobby Lounge and The Promenade Bar. The bars each have a distinct style, from the flashy, party bar style of Drinx Bar, to the more mellow style of The Promenade Bar.

“Our guests have been asking for this for years,” John Kolander, Mystic Lake’s director of food and beverage services told the paper. “Since we opened [21] years ago, it was the most requested item that we had — ‘Can we get a drink?’ ”

The grand opening celebration will be located indoors and outdoors in the south parking lot. It will feature live music, live entertainment with jugglers, magicians and more, and the Budweiser Clydesdales.
