 \, 2012. People's choice judging from 4:00 to 6:00.Racing begins at 6:00
 \, sharp.Get whittlin&rsquo\;. You&rsquo\;ve got all summer to craft you
 r own rolling work of art.\nIf you've ever wanted to make and race a pin
 ewood derby car but are not a Boy Scout\, this is the event for you. We 
 will be silk screening event tshirts from 4-6. Bring your own shirt. Lig
 ht color\, pre-washed cotton tees work best.Rules:Width - Not to exceed 
 2 3/4 inches Length - Not to exceed 7 inches Weight - Not to exceed 5.0 
 ounces Height - Not to exceed 3 inches\nOfficial Cub Scout Kits can be p
 urchased at various craft\, hobby and hardware stores or online.\nCleara
 nces - Center Rail Width: Must clear center guide rails\, typically no l
 ess than 1-3/4 inches minimum. Bottom: No less than 3/8 inches from trac
 k surface between center rails. Other: Fender flairs with less clearance
  are acceptable as long as the center rail width clearance is maintained
 . Weights are preferred to be inset in the body or on top of the car to 
 aid in a safe stop at the end of the track. No part of the car or attach
 ment to any car\, which is metal\, pointed\, sharp\, and/or jagged\, may
  be capable of contacting any part of the track.Wheelbase &ndash\; All c
 ars must have a wheel base no less than 4&rdquo\;\, with the two rear wh
 eels being positioned directly across the body from one another and the 
 two front wheels being positioned directly across the body from one anot
 her.\nFront End - Height: Depending upon the track\, the front of the ca
 r may rest against a short starting pin. Therefore the front bottom of t
 he car which rests on the pin is no higher than 1&rdquo\; above the trac
 k. Width: The front end must be at least 1 inch wide in the middle. No p
 art of the car body\, wheels or attachments may protrude in front of the
  starting peg.The car design may be enhanced by the addition of other st
 able materials such as plastic or metal. Any additions must be firmly at
 tached and meet Car Size Requirements.\nIMPORTANT !! We will be strictly
  IGNORING the following list of Cub Scout prohibited items. Feel free to
  use any or all of these items at will:Springs\, Starting devices or pro
