Shakopee Schools In Review
A review of Patch stories on Shakopee Public Schools during the 2011-2012 school year includes a visit from Sen. Al Franken and a Top Teacher Award.
A lot happened at Shakopee Schools last school year. Here are some of the stories:
1. New administrators were welcomed to the district:
- Lori Link Chosen as New Shakopee West Junior High Principal
- Shakopee School District Hires Two New Principals
- Updated: Dr. John Bezek Chosen as Shakopee Assistant Superintendent
2. Adding a new junior high school meant choosing two new names. The school board made a decision about the names in April.
3. A Fox 9 Top Teacher Award went to Shakopee High School teacher Autumn Lee. Her students had very positive things to say about her.
4. The district took part in Shakopee's first ever Shakopee diversity summit. There were more than 140 people at the meeting.
5. Senator Al Franken spoke with ninth graders at Shakopee Junior High. The subject of his talk was on science, technology, engineering, and math. He also managed to mix in a little humor.
