No Felony Charges in Dog Park Gun Case: Pick of Our Patches
The County Attorney's Office decided not to pursue felony charges in connection with the December incident. The case will now be referred over to the city attorney to see if lesser charges apply.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has declined to pursue felony charges against a man who reportedly showed a gun to a woman during a confrontation at the the Flying Cloud Dog Park, the city announced Friday.
A 44-year-old woman told police Dec. 13 that a man she didn’t know displayed a gun in his possession. Police identified the individual involved, investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident and forwarded the case to the County Attorney’s Office.
However, the office denied felony-level charges in conjunction with the incident. (Patch is still trying to find out the reasons for that determination.)
The case will now be turned over to the city attorney to see if lesser charges apply.
