Funeral Services Held For Jason Lewis

Shakopee resident Jason Lewis, 17, has died after a swimming accident in Lake O'Dowd June 29.

A celebration of life service was held Wednesday for Jason Daquon Lewis, the 17-year-old who died in a swimming accident in Shakopee on June 30.

The service was held at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Indiana.

Lewis had been rescued after being under water in Lake O'Dowd for up to 30 minutes June 29, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office. He died at about 2:30 a.m. June 30 at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Shakopee High School officials said Monday that Lewis became a student at the school in March. He had finished his junior year and was slated to start his senior year in the fall.
