Election Candidate Profiles: Matt Lehman
Every day, Shakopee Patch will profile a candidate for the mayor's office or city council.
“This community is full of very smart people with a healthy share of common sense and I will continue to use their input to assist my decision making,” said Matt Lehman, who is seeking a third term on the City Council. He describes himself as “an average blue collar, small business owner working to make ends meet like most of you.” He currently owns ARC Automative in Shakopee.
Lehman emphasizes that he voted against high taxes since serving on the council. And he also points out that he demonstrated unifying leadership on a master plan for the Dean Lake development of 295 homes and industrial, retail and office space, with a four-mile path connecting to city trail system. “I worked on that project with council authority while the community was divided, and by the time I was done the community was united behind a long worked-out environmentally friendly master developer's agreement.”
Lehman is a lifelong resident of Shakopee. He said his community service included creating the Pearson North Neighborhood Watch group, of which he was captain for 12 years.

All Matt's life as taught by our father he had always stood up for what he believes in no matter the cost.
He stands up for what is right even if its not popular when it should be.
He has the sense of civic duty that our family is proud of. He cares what you think and he's easy to find and contact for you to tell him.
Dad wanted us to carry his torch of the pioneer spirit of people helping people and Matt does.
If you want status quo however Matt's not your man.
You'll get Matt's honest opinion or a good rack in pinion.
