2012 Shakopee Holiday Festival Quick Facts

Some extra details about the annual holiday festival.

 

The Shakopee Holiday Festival kicks off the holiday season with the Velodazzle Bike Parade, tree lighting ceremony, photos with Santa and more. It will start on Friday at 6 p.m. on First Avenue and Lewis Street in downtown Shakopee.

Here are five quick facts about the festival.

1.  Refreshments will be served in the beverage tent, located near the tree lighting ceremony on First Avenue West and Lewis Street. Turtle's Bar and Grill donated the coffee and hot cocoa and cookies will also be available.

2.  As part of the tree lighting ceremony, Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke will give the countdown.

3.  Santa Claus will be outside during the tree lighting ceremony before heading into the River City Centre where kids can take photos with Santa.

4.  The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce will accept donations for its food drive during the festival. The Chamber will also accept donations at its office through the month of December. Donations will benefit the Community Action Partnership Agency

5.  Street parking will be available. The parade route, which starts at 2nd Avenue and Holmes Street will be barricaded.
